That’s What He Said Thursday!
An event hosted by Chapter Break.
Once again I have completely had no time to get around to posting anything all week again. I feel like such a bad blogger because of this, I need to keep on top of everything. It’s just such a carry on to try and make decent posts from my phone. But anyway, onto today’s post, no matter how late in the day!
If you didn’t already know, this is a weekly event I am going to try and keep on top of. Join me every Thursday as I post a favourite quote/dialogue/line from a book boyfriend to his heroine.
This week I have chosen Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Who’s love interest, if you didn’t know, is Clary Fray. He may be an ass, but he has a way with words for sure.
- “You can close your eyes and think of England, if you like,” he said.
- “I just wish,” he said, not looking at her but at the floor, “that I could say the right thing, do the right thing, to make this easier for you. Whatever you want from me, I want to do it. I want to be there for you in whatever the right way is for you, Clary.”
- “There is no pretending,” Jace said with absolute clarity. “I love you, and I will love you until I die and if there’s a life after that, I’ll love you then.”
- “And now I’m looking at you,” he said, “and you’re asking me if I still want you, as if I could stop loving you. As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me.”
Who is your favourite character from The Mortal Instruments? Let me know in the comments!
